Steel to wood conversions

STEEL TO WOOD CONVERSIONS ON RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES

K. Parker Joinery has considerable experience in converting steel windows to wood.

There is no need to break walls as the steel frame is left in place after removing the steel window. The wooden window is fitted into the steel frame and wood cladding is placed over the steel frame to complete the wood conversion.

A South African highveld case study shows that there is a 20% saving in heat conductance when steel windows are converted
to wood. This can be increased further by using shading or up to 50% if low E glass is used. Therefore conversion is a move to more energy efficiency in the house.

Contact us with details of the sizes of your windows including the design and we will quote you for the manufacture. If you agree to the cost we will visit the site to confirm the sizes before manufacture. You are at liberty to engage your own carpenter to glaze and install the windows. If you wish, we can ask one of our qualified subcontracted carpenters to quote you for the glazing and installation.

Here are some examples of the conversions we have completed.
